QR Code Menus

QR code creator, Paperlinks, backed by Y Combinator, has announced its intentions to recreate the concept of the takeout menu through the use of its technology.

Paperlinks provides its QR codes for both brands and businesses by concentrating specifically on the design of the barcode. What is unique about Paperlinks is that instead of connecting a QR code user to a website, which is the most common use for the technology, this company’s codes and apps will use the device browser to open a landing page with the logo of the company as well as other modules such as calendars, video, Tweets, images, contact information, and more.

By way of the Paperlinks Order Takeout functionality, people can use takeout menus enabled with the Paperlinks technology to tap on their mobile devices and order their meals. Once a takeout menu’s code has been scanned using any QR code reader or the Paperlinks app itself, then the user will be provided with immediate access to the mobile-friendly interactive menu for the restaurant.

From that mobile menu, users are able to choose the dishes that they wish to order, provide the their delivery instructions to the restaurant, include a gratuity in the final total, and pay for the order by way of the convenient and easy to use Checkout Cart at Paperlinks.

The orders are then submitted to the restaurant in the format of that company’s choosing (for example, fax or email), allowing the business to fill the order and deliver it to the customer at the specified address.

According to Paperlinks, it takes only minutes for the QR code and mobile landing page to be created.
