A car dealership located in Qatar, one of the wealthiest states in the middle east, has launched a new QR code campaign that aims to enhance its interactivity with customers. Nassar Bin Khaled Automobiles, a Mercedes-Benz dealership, is joining the ranks of a growing number of businesses that are becoming entangled in mobile marketing across the world.

A new global trend emerging in the marketing industry is seeing more companies are putting significant value behind communication with consumers. By boosting their social media presence and adopting QR codes, they are seeking to engage consumers in a new way.

Khaled Shaa’aban, general manager of the dealership, believes that the codes will provide a “mind-blowing” aspect to the shopping process. “We firmly believe in the power of communications,” he says, “We have built a full-fledged, creative and innovative platform to reach out to clients.”

The codes are featured on vehicle’s windows, along with price and basic information about the car. When scanned, the code resolves to Mercedes-Benz’ mobile website where potential buyers can find more detailed information about a specific model and see videos of that model. Nassar Bin Khaled is the first Mercedes-Benz dealership in the world to make use of the codes, as well as the first automotive company to do so in Qatar.

Shaa’aban will likely continue to use the codes, as they have proven to be successful thus far. More clients and prospective buyers have been using the codes as a way to get the information they need, when they need it.
