Travel company goes BIG with new marketing plan

Leger Tour Bus

Leger Holidays, a family run UK based guided tour operation, is joining the ranks of pioneering QR code technology in their latest advertising campaign. The 2D code is being printed in magazines and newspapers, allowing potential customers to download their full 176 page brochure, Experience Europe 2011. The brochure features all tours that Leger Holidays provide in PDF format, giving customers information of what they can expect from their vacation. The print advertisements have made their way to national news titles, such as the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph.

Developed with the specialists at Flipping Travel Brochures, their campaign was designed to be multi-platform friendly. If you have a smartphone, you can get their brochure. Leger claims to be the first travel company in the UK to use QR code technology in this way.

Paul Green of Flipping Travel Brochures stated, “A lot of e-brochures that are already out there depend on applications that are specific to certain devices in the smartphone family.

“The beauty of this version is that it’s available in a format which can be accessed by all – it’s far more universal.”

The holiday travel giant expects great results from the forward thinking campaign. Michael Rhodes, eCommerce Manager at Leger commented, “Looking through all our tours has never been this easy; potential customers will be able to pick up and put down the brochure remotely whenever they like!”.

The travel industry is finding more and more uses for the two dimentional code, and ebrochures are only the beginning in creating new ways of increasing revenue for an industry hard hit from the recession.
