How companies are spending their marketing dollars in 2011

For small to medium sized businesses, it is expected that these will increase their spending on digital advertising and marketing this year as compared to the previous one according to the Outlook report for 2011 released by Borrell Associates. California Giant Berry Farms has announced that they will be emblazoning their packaging labels with QR codes as a new way to engage consumers. The codes will be featured on all packages, often called clamshells, during the harvesting season. The company will also host weekly drawings which consumers can enter by scanning the code.
