Launch of Xperia TL to be “soon”
AT&T is expected to facilitate the launch of Sony’s new Xperia TL smart phone in the coming months. Sony announced that the Xperia T series will see a launch in late August earlier this year. The launch of the new series was heralded by the Xperia V and Xperia Tablet S, two devices that won a great deal of acclaim for what they did. Now, the Xperia TL is on the horizon and it is generating hype because of one feature that sets it apart from virtually every other mobile device on the market: NFC technology.
New smart phone to make use of NFC technology
NFC technology is rare in terms of mobile devices. The technology has become the cornerstone of mobile commerce due to its ability to facilitate wireless data transfer. Consumers and businesses alike have shown a degree of favor for mobile commerce, but the burgeoning industry has had trouble finding traction due to t he lack of NFC-enabled mobile devices. Sony and AT&T are keen to solve this issue by bringing new NFC-enabled devices to the market, as is the case with the Xperia TL.
AT&T expected to tout device’s mobile commerce capabilities
The Xperia TL will boast of a powerful 13 megapixel camera and a 4.55 inch HD screen. The device’s inclusion of NFC technology means that users will be able to share pictures, videos, and other content with one another without having to connect two devices with a wire. It also means that the Xperia TL can be used as a mobile payment device. AT&T is one of the companies behind the conglomerate known as Isis, a mobile payment platform that aims to dominate the mobile commerce industry. As such, AT&T is keen to promote the commerce aspects of the new smart phone.
James Bond to use Xperia TL
The Xperia TL is currently in the ambiguous “coming soon” stage. A precise release date has not yet been given by either AT&T or Sony. The company have also not yet released information concerning the price of the enw mobile device. The Xperia TL is features in the upcoming James Bond movie — Skyfall — however, which suggest that consumers can expect to see it sometime around November 9.
