Lowes new look sporting Microsoft Tags all over the place!

Improving home improvement may sound redundant, but to the home improvement retailer Lowes, it was something that needed to be done. In 2010, Lowes started a new business campaign that would help redefine them and reintroduce them to the consumer market. When the economy took its downturn several retail businesses felt the crunch. Consumers had very little to spend, and when they did spend, they did their homework; looking for goods with the best value for the price. During this time, Lowes decided to reunite with people, on a more personal level. “Experience. Lowes. Colorful and Interactive Marketing Signage

Herbal Essences has introduced a new retail campaign making use of QR codes and Microsoft Tags on in-store signage. The codes will enable shoppers to view detailed information about hair care products. Customers will also be able to find information on what products that best suit their hair type. The campaign will appear in more than 53,000 stores around the country, according to the company. The campaign will make use of Microsoft Tags along with QR codes. Will the big black and white guy survive in the U.S.

Not everyone seems to be on the bandwagon for these cute little, black and white, square boxes, known as QR Codes. Are they just misunderstood by the less-than-technically-savvy consumer? After all, they are a progressive advance to advertising and the way we communicate. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter all seemed like an outrageous fad when they first came on the scene.
