A shopping center in Bahrain is now offering a truly unique technological experience.

The Seef Mall – a major Bahrain shopping center – has entered into a joint project with National Geographic Channel and has now launched that kingdom’s first significant augmented reality experience

This experience is available to mall visitors who want to experience the world in a whole new way.

The augmented reality world that will be available at the mall will allow visitors to get up close with the phenomenal global content from the channel. Currently, only sneak previews are being released to the media, but the official launch will allow everyone to join in. The general manager of Seef Properties, Robert Addison was on site to help to explain the technology during the previews.

The augmented reality experience brings some of the most fascinating parts of the world right into the mall.

Examples that were given included animals such as dolphins (with which the visitors can “swim”), and even those that have been extinct since before the dawn of humankind, such as dinosaurs (which can be digitally “fed”). Visitors to the mall will be able to see firsthand what it is to walk on the moon, and safely experience some of the most terrifying weather formations that the world has to offer.

According to Addison, “Seef Mall brings in a new era of interactive technology through this event, which combines education with fun at the same time. National Geographic has always inspired many, waugmented reality shopping malle hope families, children and visitors of the mall will take advantage of this unique ‘never-been-witnessed-before’ experience in Bahrain which will be on showcase at the mall starting tomorrow for next few months.”

The augmented reality experience is designed to be fascinating, interactive, and highly educational in a way that could never have been achieved without this technology. Visitors can fully immerse themselves into the digital environment and get lost in the various scenes and images.
