Motek Mobile recently released their new application called Code Muncher . This application is a QR code reader that lets the user view web sites, send text messages, call and, save contact information that is in the QR code.
This recent application’s interface is heavily influenced by an older Motek application called: Screen Muncher, this application is a screen capture application that lets the user “Munch” or captures their Blackberry screens.
Some features from Screen Muncher have been integrated in Code Muncher like, the munching sound and the ever famous Motek Munch Monster that appears and starts eating the image.
The Code Muncher is a free, ad-supported application that scans and reads QR codes. It’s easy to use all the user needs to do is start the application and direct your camera to the QR code. Voila, code has been scanned and read.
The application can be upgraded from the free version to the paid version. The paid version has additional features such as: the option to remove the watermark, changing the colors, changing the sound effects and removing the ads.
Another feature of the Code Muncher is the Community Rewards Program, creating a profile for the Community Rewards Program lets the user: have 200 points, download free things and, it gives the user points for paid downloads. These points can be used to download more stuff like music, wallpapers, sound effects and, themes just to name a few.
A downside for this application is that, it is only compatible with the Blackberry 9780 (bold) as well as Torch 9800 but for OS 6.0 only. Never the less it’s a good application to have especially since Motek has added a little bonus. A secret QR code that, when scanned, the user can enter to win a Code Muncher Prize Pack.
