Safe online purchasing for youth firm, Virtual Piggy, Inc., has introduced its new mobile Apple iOS app, which is designed to allow kids and their parents to manage their Virtual Piggy accounts using their iPhones and iPads.
The e-commerce and m-commerce solutions from Virtual Piggy are secure and COPPA compliant, to make it possible for youths under the age of 18 to be able to shop online.
Though there is a spending power of $50 billion every year among children from ages 8 through 18 years, but the internet has provided a bit of a spending barrier, as they are given either no ability to use their funds, or they need to use their parent’s credit card. Virtual Piggy offers technology that provides children with the ability to make purchases online within a controlled environment in order to provide parents with peace of mind.
Catherine Williams, an executive from Virtual Piggy, said that children are quite comfortable with the online marketplace, and more than one in three kids between the ages of 8 and 11 also have their own mobile devices. “The Virtual Piggy app brings our secure online payment method to the platforms where kids spend the majority of their time.”
The unveiling of the mobile app by Virtual Piggy is the beginning of the release of the company’s intentions to expand their family-friendly mobile and e-commerce solution to the worldwide under-18 marketplace.
