Target has launched its latest mobile ad campaign in order to draw greater attention to its three day sale and to provide its customers with an additional method for conveniently purchasing the must-have products for this year’s holiday season.

The department store is running this campaign of mobile ads inside the iPhone app by Pandora. The sale itself began on December 8 and will run until December 10.

According to mobile marketing consultant, Wilson Kerr, from Boston, by including a limited time offer in its marketing, Target has made an intelligent move “since the linked mobile commerce call to action fuels instant purchases whenever and wherever the consumer is at the time they receive the offer.”

Kerr spoke of the new Target mobile marketing campaign as an expert in that particular field, but is not associated with Target, which is not responding to press inquiries on the topic.

The ad being used by the company informs ad readers of the existence and dates of the sale and gives them the opportunity to “peek” at some of the top items being featured. When the ad is tapped, the consumer is redirected to a mobile landing page which provides him or her with the opportunity to download the free iPhone app.

Consumers can also use the landing page to view the flyers of the latest sales at the department store, to preview the featured items of the three day sale, or to view Target’s weekly advertisement. Moreover, users can provide their ZIP code in order to locate the nearest store.
