The remote voting system via mobile device is a pilot project. Almost 140 West Virginians living abroad in 29 counties have used mobile voting in order to participate in the 2018 midterm elections. The state’s troops serving abroad will have the opportunity to vote this November via a smartphone app. Troops from West Virginia on duty overseas during the midterm elections that will be held this November, will have the opportunity to engage in smartphone voting.
