Single Shanghai health QR code scan to replace current multiple barcode system

Residents of the city will now be able to use one quick response barcode for all relevant purposes. Residents of Shanghai will soon be able to use a single QR code scan whenever entering public venues. The city in China has become a first to adopt a new quick response code sticker on entry permits. The new Shanghai QR code sticker includes the Chinese city among the first to adopt the new permit system. The pilot project involves 144 hour visa-free transit passes. The quick response codes contain the traveler’s personal information so it can be obtained through a scanner.
