California Giant Berry Farms has announced that they will be emblazoning their packaging labels with QR codes as a new way to engage consumers. The codes will be featured on all packages, often called clamshells, during the harvesting season. The company will also host weekly drawings which consumers can enter by scanning the code. Travelers and residents benefit from new scanning capabilities in the U.K.

The United Kingdom is beginning to use QR codes more regularly. The Herfordshire County Council has decided to use the codes to help residents and visitors access travel information. The council has set up a website that the codes will be linked to and those that scan the codes will have direct access to public transport information.
