Meijer has introduced a new shopping service via mobile called Shop & Scan to Indianapolis. A Meijer mobile shopping service has been launched in Indianapolis that provides its customers with the option of scanning the barcodes of items they want to purchase in store as they’re shopping. Once finished with their shop, customers simply have to scan a QR code at self-checkout to pay for their purchases. The service is called Shop & Scan. Kmart and Sears launch new mobile commerce campaign powered by QR codes

QR coded mobile stores are quickly becoming a very popular trend in the retail circuit. These stores are often set up in high traffic areas, such as train stations and air ports. Earlier this year, retail giant Tesco launched the first mobile store in South Korea. The store was somewhat successful, leading to other retailers in Germany to follow suit.
