On ESPN’s “College GameDay”, which is a college football program from the station that is filmed every week at a different college campus, a student held up a sign featuring QR codes, the words “Hi Mom. Campus visitors will be able to use their smartphones or tablets to find their way around and learn more. Hutchinson Community College has now launched a new self guided tour program that uses QR codes and the smartphones and tablets of visitors in order to provide visitors with instant information while they work their way around the local college campus. The announcement was made during the college’s 85th anniversary celebration last weekend. Local startup uses apparel as a form of walking billboard space. Chadwick Martin Bailey, a market research and consulting firm, has released the results of their recent poll regarding the way that people scan QR codes and it has led to some unique uses for the codes. The survey involved the participation of almost 1,300 people regarding their scanning habits.
