Downtown project for bringing in new businesses is now underway in the Georgia city. The official release of the QR codes project on Main Street Gainesville, Georgia, has now occurred, and the city has started the initiative by posting the barcodes on two vacant buildings. The barcodes are located on empty buildings located right on the square, so that smartphone users can scan them. Constant Contact, an online marketing firm, has announced a new tool to help businesses and non-profit groups to connect with consumers. The company’s new tool, called Scan-to-Join, will allow businesses to create their own QR codes and attach them to sign-up forms. There is a new app that is letting smart phone users create their own digital business codes. YPrintIt, a mobile application for both iPhone and Android that allows users to pick from over a hundred different templates to create business cards emblazoned with QR codes.
