The struggling Canadian is working to claw its way back to relevance in part by increasing its software revenues. A recently filed BlackBerry patent lawsuit is aimed directly at Nokia Corp, accusing the latter company of infringing on the former company’s property. This is the latest step in BlackBerry’s ongoing efforts to boost its royalty collections on its patents and earn more revenue through new software deals. Settlement reached between BlackBerry and Ryan Seacrest

The struggling Canadian smartphone maker has agreed to settle its lawsuits with the Typo company. BlackBerry Ltd. has brought a lengthy legal battle with Typo Products LLC – a company financed and co-founded by Ryan Seacrest of “American Idol” fame – by coming to a settlement with the startup. All of the “outstanding legal disputes” between the two companies have been wrapped up by a settlement.
