The server is based on IBM’s Power Systems family of servers and is an eight core, energy efficient processor. This will allow banking and business applications to run quickly and smoothly from mobile devices like a Smartphone or tablets.
Mobile commerce has been growing rapidly, and is predicted to reach over 340 million users worldwide in another three years. That many users would generate over 240 billion dollars in payment transactions. The application to allow mobile transactions to be done securely and quickly has been the only thing holding back a total mobile revolution.
