This complements the unveiling of the health and wellness company’s new ecommerce site.
Leading brand in health and wellness, fitness accessories and lifestyle media, Gaiam, has announced that it has just launched its brand new mcommerce website at the same time as its standard online commerce site on Demandware, which is an on-demand ecommerce company.
Both sites have been launched using that company’s commerce platform.
Gaiam is hoping that this move in mcommerce will help it to gain a larger degree of merchandising and marketing control. It is also seeking greater flexibility in order to keep up with – and evolve alongside – the changing needs and expectations of its customers.
Gaiam has already made its first few steps into mcommerce, but this will significantly broaden its presence.
According to the Gaiam director of web operations, Jill Honken, “Gaiam is committed to becoming the one-stop source for those interested in living healthy and natural lives. Demandware enables us to develop exceptional brand experiences for our loyal customer base across digital channels.”
Honken went on to explain that the company now has a scalable mcommerce and regular web platform that has the flexibility that the company requires in order to make rapid changes in order to keep up with the evolution of market trends and of consumer demands. The company will also be able to scale it to support its growth.
Founded in 1988, Gaiam is a company based in Boulder, Colorado. Its target market includes consumers who place value on sustainable economy, the environment, healthy living, personal development, and alternative healthcare. It sells internationally and has established an extensive distribution network, including more than 60,000 retailer doors, 15,000 “stores within stores”, as well as 5,600 management locations for its media category. It also has a digital distribution platform.
Gaiam has added a broad spectrum of different features to its mcommerce experience in order to enhance the engagement of its users. Among them include the following:
• Wish list and gift registries
• Reviews and ratings
• Integration with Pinterest throughout the entire website
• A three step streamlined mcommerce checkout process that has options for gift certificates, messages, and wrapping.
