m-commerce growth

Affiliate Window, a network from the United Kingdom, has just announced that it has lined up for a highly successful year and has already broken records as a result of the impact of m-commerce.

The network reported that it broke the million sale mark in March 2013, and that this shattered previous records.

This m-commerce performance has kept it on track for the type of highly successful year that it was hoping to achieve. Comparatively, it took until August to reach the million sale mark in 2013. This slashed the necessary time for reaching this goal in less than half.

The company’s report showed that the m-commerce success is a direct result of the growing popularity of the channel.

According to Affiliate Window client strategist Matt Swan, said that “The way consumers are accessing the Internet is rapidly evolving.” He added that “Consumer confidence in mobile commerce is also growing. More and more consumers are now turning to these devices to transact as well as for research purposes.”

The affiliate network currently has over 10,000. Swan also explained that there are a very large number of both retailers and affiliate sites that are currently making a concerted effort for m-commerce optimization, improving the convenience even further for consumers who enjoy shopping through the use of their smartphones and tablets.

He said that at the current rate of m-commerce growth, his company feels that it can realistically anticipate that the million sale mark will be broken even earlier in 2014.

Other records that were broken by Affiliate Window in March included traffic volume through m-commerce channels. Those levels were recorded as being three times higher than they had been in the same month, the year before. In fact, last month’s traffic over mobile was greater than the entire amount for the first quarter of last year. Also recorded was the highest amount of traffic that was specifically over iPhone devices. That said, the company did not reveal its specific numbers regarding sales and traffic.
