Litecoin Foundation announces partnership with American NFL team the Miami Dolphins.
The start of the 2019 NFL season will see Litecoin become the official Miami Dolphins cryptocurrency. The partnership between Litecoin Foundation, the Miami Dolphins and Aliant Payments, will begin on September 5, 2019
The crypto payments will be made possible by Aliant Payments.
Aliant Payments’ system will make the Miami Dolphins cryptocurrency payments possible. The partnership gives Litecoin the ability to reach one of the NFL’s largest fan bases via in-game branding and advertising opportunities at Hard Rock Stadium. It will also be included across the football team’s various online properties and digital content.
To start, the partnership will give fans the option of paying with Litecoin or Bitcoin when buying tickets for the Dolphin’s 50/50 raffle. Half of the proceeds of this raffle benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation and its charitable causes.
The tickets for the 50/50 raffle can be purchased both online and at 14 kiosks and raffle seller locations throughout Hard Rock Stadium.
“We’re thrilled to see Litecoin become the official cryptocurrency of the Miami Dolphins,” said creator of Litecoin and managing director of the Litecoin Foundation, Charlie Lee, in a news release.
“This collaboration propels Litecoin in front of an audience of millions of people around the world at a time where adoption of cryptocurrencies continues to gain momentum and the ecosystem is able to support real world use cases in ways previously not possible. We see this as a powerful way to raise awareness and educate people about Litecoin and cryptocurrencies on a tremendous scale.”
The Miami Dolphins cryptocurrency partnership will enhance fan experience.
Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that was established in 2011 and was built to deliver quick confirmation times and low transaction fees. The Litecoin Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Singapore with a mission to advance Litecoin to develop and promote state-of-the-art blockchain technologies.
According to Miami Dolphins Vice President & Chief Information Officer Kim Rometo, the NFL team is always looking for ways to enhance the experience of their fans and the partnership with Litecoin as the official Miami Dolphins cryptocurrency gives guests the chance to enjoy the 50/50 raffle while also donating to a good cause.
