Local merchants across the cities will be accepting this form of mobile money transactions.
Isis, the joint mobile wallet venture among T-Mobile USA, AT&T Mobility, and Verizon Wireless, has just announced its initial participating merchants across Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas.
Among them, will be The Coca-Cola Company, Aeropostale, Jamba Juice, Champs, Foot Locker, Dillard’s, and Macy’s, all of which will be accepting the service as a form of mobile money for the purchase of products and services.
These are joining a long list of other merchants that are already accepting smartphone payments.
Those other merchants include gas stations, grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and retailers. They all have the necessary mobile wallet transaction terminals installed in their locations and are now compatible with Isis. Upon the official launch of the service, the participating merchants in both cities will be able to accept mobile money at checkout counters where they shop every day.
According to the Isis chief sales officer, Jim Stapleton, “Today’s announcement signals the mobile commerce experience has arrived. A strong merchant base in Austin and Salt Lake City will make the Isis Mobile Wallet real for consumers as they choose to use their mobile wallet at many of their favorite merchant locations to pay and redeem offers.”
Stapleton added that his company is looking forward to being able to work with the national and local merchants to make sure that the first and ongoing mobile wallet experience of consumers will be a strong and pleasant one and that it will help them to better interact and shop with their favorite brands.
Isis also provides services other than the exchange of mobile money.
It also lets smartphone users take advantage of a wide range of offers available from merchants, such as loyalty programs and discounts or coupons. This helps to make sure that the communication between consumers and merchants will remain a more meaningful one.
The Isis mobile wallet is designed to help participating merchants to enhance the enjoyment and experience that is available to their customers, from the moment that they start thinking about the products that are offered, to the end of the point-of-sale checkout with their smartphones.
