This year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, California, is shaping up to be a spectacular event. Comic-Con is a gathering of all that is fantasy and science fiction. Everything from Transformers to Batman is represented at the convention.

This year, the BBC will be attending the event, bringing with them the entire cast of Doctor Who, the acclaimed British science fiction show. The BBC will also be holding a contest which all attendees of the event are free to participate in. Dubbed “Doctor Who’s Clues QR Scavenger Hunt,” the contest seeks to turn the entirety of Comic-Con into an interactive playground.

Doctor Who is one of the longest running TV shows in history. The original show spans two decades and came to a conclusion in 1989. In 2005, the show was revived with a modern cast and story. Since its revival, Doctor Who has drawn in fans from all over the world. Never before has the show been as successful as it is now.

Several QR codes will be placed throughout the San Diego Convention Center. Each code will be placed in an area that has some reference to the show. Scanning the codes with a smart phone will enter participants into the overarching contest, the more codes that are scanned, the higher the chance of winning. The prizes have yet to be revealed, following the secrecy credo of Comic-Con.

The BBC will announce the winners of the contest at the end of the convention on July 24th.
