The entertainment giant has announced the digital pass and wallet support for Apple devices.

MagicBand support is now available through Disney MagicMobile on iPhone and the Apple Watch for theme park guests using those devices.

The technology can be used by guests to Disney World and who use compatible Apple devices.

The Disney MagicMobile service uses the Wallet app in Apple Watch and iPhones, allowing them to function like the brand’s MagicBands. The MagicBand is a colorful plastic wristband with tech components, allowing Walt Disney World guests to use it as wearable technology for park entry, to unlock resort rooms, and to purchase food and merchandise, in addition to verifying entry at FastPass points (currently unavailable due to pandemic restrictions).

The company originally announced the new iOS-compatible service in March, providing a new and contactless way to access many of the most popular features of the MagicBand on an Apple Watch and several of the most recent iPhone models.

The Disney MagicMobile pass can be created through the My Disney Experience app.

Once the pass has been created, it is added to the Wallet app on the device and becomes usable at Disney World resorts, theme parks and shops. The iPhone or Apple Watch can be used in the same way as the MagicBand at the contactless points throughout the parks and resorts. That said, guests who still love their MagicBand – which are highly customizable and often collected – can still use their wristband alongside their mobile pass. In that way, they can use both options and don’t have to choose either one or the other.

By employing the iPhone or Apple Watch Express Mode, guests are also able to access their pass without the need to unlock the device each time.

Guests have the option to further customize their Disney MagicMobile pass experience. The app provides a number of different Disney-themed designs from which to Disney MagicMobile - person wearing Apple Watchchoose. Those themes animate upon use. Moreover, several passes for the same family/group of guests can be stored on a single device. Though it is currently available only to those two types of iOS-based device, the service will eventually roll out to Android devices as well.
