Dell Inc., the computer manufacturer, has unveiled a new mobile commerce strategy that includes an app that will function for both shopping and support so that its customers can locate the products they want, and the company can widen its mobile presence.

Mobile device users can obtain the Dell Mobile App by using any Android web browser and entering: http://www.dell.com/appdownload. Alternately, the app can also be obtained at the Google Android Market, where it can be downloaded for free.

According to the Dell director of global mobile, Brandon McGee, from Austin, Texas, the computer manufacturer’s intention with this new mobile strategy is to connect with a larger number of people in a wider variety of locations so that customers will be provided with “the choice in how they interact with Dell, whether that’s by phone, in store, online, and now through their mobile device.”

He added that as technology continues to change and progress, individuals have altered the way that they use the internet to view, research, and shop. He explained that today, mobile devices are being widely used for this purpose, whether it is with smartphones or tablets. From this, Dell decided that it was only natural to create a mobile app that would give those customers the opportunity to engage with dell for support and shopping through their device of choice.

The new app provides customers with the ability to browse the available products, compare various options (up to three products side-by-side), read reviews left by other customers, and even place orders to purchase the products that they like.
