Interac Debit m-commerce will help to provide more seamless customer experiences.
“In an increasingly digital world, Canadian consumers and businesses alike are looking for seamless customer experiences,” said Nader Henin, AVP, Commerce at Interac, according to a recent press release.
“As we see a rapid shift towards mobile commerce and the growing demand for online shopping, broader acceptance of Interac Debit on Apple Pay or Google Pay with merchants across Canada means greater choice for Canadians to pay whenever and however they want and stay in control of their money,” Henin added.
Across Canada, shopping behaviors are shifting form online to mobile apps and websites. As a result, Canadians are seeking new and seamless ways to make their purchases via mobile.
The press release from Interac Corp. notes that a May 2019 eMarketer Report says that retail mobile commerce spend in Canada is anticipated to reach CA$16 billion ($12.1 billion) by the end of 2019. Furthermore, it is forecasted to reach $30 billion ($22.7 billion) by 2023. This represents 35% of all retail e-commerce sales.
