Customers traveling with Alaska Airlines can now use an iPhone app to check-in to their flights, access boarding passes, and obtain other useful information related to their travel experience.

The features offered by this app gives customers a way to access some of their most vital travel information in a highly convenient way. The airline explained that it feels that one of the most important options offered by this app is the ability for travelers to check in using their smartphones, obtain access to their boarding passes, receive text or email flight alerts, and track the status of a flight. Customers can even use the app to choose or change their seats.

Spokesperson Marianne Lindsey from Alaska Airlines explained that they wanted to provide customers with “an intelligent, intuitive experience that allows them to seamlessly glide through the airport and into their seat with little congestion.”

She added that this app gives travelers their own real time data based on the individual’s needs at that particular time. She also stated that this is only the beginning of what will be offered over time.

According to Lindsey, Alaska Airlines will continue to improve and build its app based on the feedback it receives from customers, and to create new mobile experiences designed for the devices that are most popular among their customers.

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air are both Alaska Air Group subsidiaries. Ninety cities are served by these two airlines, through an expansive network within all of the United States (the lower 48 and Hawaii), Canada, and Mexico.
