World news for mobile marketing advancements

Mobile Marketing Industry in Africa

The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) for the East Africa chapter was launched and it is expected to improve the growth of the industry for mobile marketing in the country of Kenya.

The mobile phone industry began in Kenya ten years ago but there has been an existing knowledge gap since the time that it was begun. In this particular industry, it should be noted that one of the central pillars of the business is the implementation of mobile strategies not just for the customers but also for the business owners. However, the said knowledge gap is preventing this to happen in Kenya.

For the operators of the mobile network, they should be well-versed regarding the marketing for the operator inventory as well as the promotions that are being done. However, this is not happening in the said place since the operators when asked about these certain things are not capable of addressing the queries. This, in addition to the concepts that are being recycled leads to a rather unsuccessful mobile phone industry.

The MMA then is set to unite all those who are involved in the said industry to make sure that this will be improved. MMA has now over 700 company members, and it has local chapters located within the locations of the members. Strategies that were identified to establish a mobile channel within the members are promoting the industry and educating the involved customers and business owners, as well as measuring and guiding the mobile marketing space.

A forum is to be conducted by MMA so that members can meet and discuss the issues that are currently at hand, and to work on solutions that can be used to address such. The East African chapter of MMA is expected to ensure that there will be improvements seen on the industry.
