The holidays this year were the first time that mobile commerce played a notable role in the shopping experience, so this was the first time that businesses involved in that channel were able to try out new techniques and learn for future holidays.
A webinar has already been planned that goes over the lessons that have been learned about mobile holiday shopping. It is an hour long and has been made available for free. It involved the participation of RSR Research, Carat, Kony Solutions, and Google, and followed the progress of mobile commerce throughout the holiday season so far so that best practices could be developed for next year.
The webinar is scheduled for January 25, from 2pm to 3pm. This Kony Solutions-sponsored event will be entitled “Holiday Mobile Commerce: Lessons Learned for Future Holiday Efforts”.
Marketers and retailers have been using mobile techniques more heavily this year than any other year, with the purpose of driving in-store sales, as well as purchases online or at mobile destinations. Retailers and brands tried a wide array of different mobile techniques to bring in those sales this year, including: banner ads, SMS, mobile websites, search, rich media, and video.
