Franchise owners are among those businesses leading the way in mobile marketing, and they are not failing to come up with creative ways in which to engage with consumers.
Customers are being provided with everything from discount coupons to apps that allow them to pre-order their meals for pickup, and from previewing the menu and discovering nutritional information to finding store locations or even participating in a charity fundraiser.
According to Joost Zimmerman, the digital marketing director for Subway, which recently signed a deal with Velti, a mobile marketing technology company, in order to build a campaign for its stores, “We see enormous potential in our mobile campaigns and look forward to delivering a more robust experience with Velti.”
Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are becoming increasingly affordable, building their omnipresence among consumers. As a result, Clicz.com, an online marketing advice site, has issued a list of useful ways in which franchises can take advantage of advertising through mobile media. Some of the recommendations included the following:
• Make certain that your customers can locate you – no matter what kind of business you run, if consumers can’t find you, then your opportunity ends there. Use online services such as Google Maps and Yelp, as well as mobile search advertising in order to increase your visibility.
• Perform price comparisons with the competition – since one of the main uses of smartphones is comparison shopping, make certain that you know what your customers will be seeing. Use those very same tools to have a look at the prices being offered by your competition.
• Build your repeat customer base – the only thing better than a customer is a repeat customer. Use mobile coupons and text messages to encourage your customers to return.
