A new comScore report has shown that the number of smartphone users in Europe who have scanned QR codes has increased by 96 percent over the same three month period (ending July 2012) in 2011. The research examined the impact and activity of mcommerce overall in the continent. Massachusetts-based Nellymoser, a mobile technology and marketing firm, has announced that it quadrupled its growth in 2011 through the use of its mobile marketing campaign that included QR codes. The number of action code and QR code based mobile marketing campaigns increased from fewer than 100 two years ago, to over 400 last year. Furthermore, Nellymoser held the lead within its sector as 3 out of every 5 of the top 50 magazines (based on circulation) included its marketing campaigns in 2011.
