The Lead Generation Card is being used to help to expand the capabilities of the program for marketers.
Twitter has just announced the latest opportunities that it is offering for social media marketing through the expansion of its Twitter cards program – already a year old – in order to provide marketers with a new way to obtain direct and interested business leads through the network.
This new service is called the Lead Generation Card and it is geared toward businesses that tweet.
Its name suggests a great deal of what it provides. It provides social media marketing companies with the ability to embed a card into their standard tweets. This means that their Twitter messages will be able to make an discount offer or spread the word about a promotion, such as “25% off your next purchase”.
When the tweet is expanded by readers, the social media marketing opportunity goes into effect.
When the Twitter user clicks the embedded link in order to expand the tweet, the social media marketing technology automatically prompts that user to send their information to the company in order to take advantage of the promotion being offered. All they need to do is give their approval and the information is sent, without the need to complete an “I’m interested” form.
The user name, actual name, and email address of the user are gleaned from the Twitter account (when permission is provided by that user) and the social media marketing company will receive it so that follow-up action can be taken, such as sending an email with the sales pitch, coupon, or other relevant information for taking advantage of the offer that has been made.
This social media marketing program makes communication between a company and a consumer a simple, direct, single click process. Many marketers are already making efforts to learn more about this program as they are seeing considerable potential in what it has to offer.
The Lead Generation Card for social media marketing has now been launched in its beta phase to the managed clients at Twitter. The network has said that the option will soon be made available to small and medium sized businesses, as well.
