Rapidly growing startup, Snappii, a provider of services that allow individuals without any programming skills to create mobile applications for small businesses, has introduced its new features for QR code support, which can now be implemented in to those mobile apps.

Snappii also provides the barcode scanner that is necessary for reading the QR codes using a mobile device. Their services now allow small businesses to create a quick scanner app that can be worked directly into new Snappii apps or those that they have already created, so that their functionality will be improved and they will stand out among the plethora of other code scanner apps that is already available to mobile device users.

The apps can be downloaded by iPhone and iPad devices. They are created using a DIY-style platform which will allow for the development of custom branded mobile apps by individuals with no programming knowledge or experience. The new scanner app feature allows businesses to redirect mobile device users to any of the following:

• Send an email
• Call a number
• Access a URL for a mobile website to obtain more information or shop (in the case of a commerce site)
• Obtain the location of the nearest store
• Watch a video on YouTube
• Schedule a calendar event.

According to the CEO of Snappii, Alex Bakman, being able to implement QR code functionality into the small business mobile apps is “really awesome”. He went on to say that “QR codes are hot today and everybody wants mobile apps which allow to use up-to-date features in them for their businesses.”
