Realtors Use QR Codes for Marketing

Realtors have been using QR codes to successfully increase the exposure of their properties and services. Robin Speronis, owner and broker of Zen Real Estate of Florida, is joining in on the trend by using the codes to offer fast virtual services to her clients and any potential clients that may be passing by.

Property tours are common and a great way to show the value of the property to prospective buyers. However, it can be a chore to work schedules around to make time for tours, especially as the housing market is seeing signs of recovery after the recession. More people are looking to buy homes and realtors can have trouble fitting everyone into a schedule conveniently. This is where QR comes in.

Emblazoning signage with the code allows for realtors to still sell to customers without actually having to be present. Anyone with a smart phone can scan the code and have access to information on the property and even take a virtual tour. The virtual tour functions the same as a normal, guided tour, but can be done without having to leave the car. The content can be bookmarked from the phone and viewed later as well.

The use of QR eliminates the need for a middle man according to Speronis. “The buyers don’t have to go through a gatekeeper. They don’t have to call and agent just to view the home,” she says.

The website that her QR codes are linked to holds more information on properties than any other MLS website. This allows her to directly connect with customers without having to rely on a third party for results.

QR is still new and seeing robust success wherever it is being implemented. Speronis is looking forward to seeing just how far she can take QR as mobile technology comes into vogue.
