The new Wi-Fi Hotspot Kit 2 will include this new mobile barcode feature.
A leading Taiwan wireless networking device provider, 4ipnet, Inc., has announced that there most recent feature for secure, reliable and manageable wireless access will include the use of QR codes for automatic logins.
The quick response barcode opportunity will be a part of the HSG260-WTG2 Wi-Fi Hotspot Kit 2.
The company has noted that the wireless LAN industry is increasingly concentrating on meeting “bring your own device” demands. As such, 4ipnet has created the new login feature using QR codes that lets the gateway to recognize any type of portable device that is attempting to log in to the network system when the quick response code displayed on the screen of the device has been scanned.
When the SDS200W Wireless Smart Device Server is used to choose a billing plan, it will then create a ticket featuring printed QR codes which will allow mobile devices that scan it to gain access to the internet.
Scanning QR codes is easy and this can be done using any of the free apps available for that purpose.
Though this has been designed specifically for smartphones and tablets with an iOS or Android operating system, virtually any of these devices can use the QR codes in order to log in provided that a scanning app has been downloaded and installed.
Being able to log in by scanning a barcode allows visitors and guests the opportunity to save a great deal of time and frustration. The alternative has been the requirement to memorize or – less desirably – write down the usernames and passwords that are required to gain them access at a public venue.
As smartphones and tablets are extremely popular and are only becoming increasingly common, this new ability to log in through QR codes provides owners of hotspot venues with much greater flexibility for their customers and saving the time that their personnel must spend to offer this technology. The reason is that once the barcode is scanned, the entire process is complete. Therefore, staffers don’t need to spend their time assisting customers with login information.
