Mobile Marketing Strategies Summit: Part II Report

John Duffy, CEO 3Cinteractive

Mobile marketing is the future, according to the speakers at the first Mobile Marketing Strategy Summit in San Francisco, California. The mobile marketing industry is taking off and its ascending flight has caught the eye of some of the most influential web-based companies in the world. The term “mobile” encompasses any electrical device that isn’t burdened with a wire. Naturally, such devices appeal to marketers as they tend to be inseparable from their owners. Given the popularity of the iPhone and Android smart phones, it’s no wonder people are beginning to see a wave of QR codes and Tags coming their way.

It isn’t just marketing that’s getting the attention, either. Anything that can be done on a mobile device should be done on a mobile device, according to John Duffy, CEO of 3Cinteractive, a mobile platform company that helps other companies develop mobile strategies. And that includes paying the bills. Duffy claims that the emerging Cloud computing platform is one of the most secure forms of mobile payments. Cloud computing refers to an extensive network of remote servers hosted on the Internet as is quickly becoming popular with companies like Apple and Amazon.

Andrew Koven and James Citron, founders of the mobile video marketing platform Mogreet, believe that mobile marketing is the best way for companies to connect with modern day consumers – those attached at the hip to their smart phones. By using things like QR codes, companies can engage consumers wherever they are, from Facebook to local retailers. Both Koven and Citron say that dialogue with customers is paramount to the success of mobile marketing campaigns. Finding out what they want will help companies serve them better without having to outspend competitors.

The industry of mobile marketing is multi-faceted and there are many different aspects therein. The Mobile Marketing Strategy Summit proved that there is more than enough enthusiasm to drive the industry into the future.
