QR Code Marketing

QR codes have made important headway in many industries, including hospitality, as hotels pick up the technology to provide their visitors with an improved experience throughout their stay.

Some examples include the following:

  • National Conference Center – Located in Leesburg, Virginia, this hotel uses QR codes to help with their green initiatives by posting 12 QR codes at various locations throughout the facility where there are eco-friendly efforts being made.  When the barcode is scanned, the user can learn about the other efforts being made around the property, such as in the guest rooms, kitchen, break stations, and meeting spaces.
  • Best Western Hotel Le Montparnasse – This hotel in Paris, France, is using QR codes in order to help their guests to see what room amenities are available to them.  There are brochures available in the rooms that have the barcodes printed on them.  The scan leads the user to an informational PDF that shows all of the amenities of the room.  This helps to reduce the amount of paper needed to provide a large amount of information.
  • Fountainebleau Hotel Miami Beach – This Miami Beach, Florida hotel promotes its spas, bars, and restaurants to its guests by redirecting them to landing pages that provide additional information about each of them when the QR codes are scanned.  This helps to boost the awareness of the hotel’s various services and entertainment options.
  • The Mirage Hotel and Casino – This landmark in Vegas has put QR codes to use in order to promote the entertainment that they have available on site to the visitors to the city and the facility.  The barcodes can be found on busses, taxi cabs, and various forms of signage around Las Vegas.
