Empirix Inc. has released their latest survey results, which were commissioned by the Customer Experience Foundation, in order to obtain a closer look at mobile shopping in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.

Empirix is a leader in the service quality assurance solutions market for management of end-to-end comprehensive customer experiences in terms of IP-based communication and mobile broadband systems.

The survey determined that though consumers are ready to buy products and services on a regular basis, within the next 36 months, through the use of their mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, retailers are still a long way from being prepared to offer these services to their customers.

The skyrocketing popularity of mobile devices is sending the demand for mobile shopping in an upward direction along with it. Experts are forecasting a significant rise in the desire for m-commerce service and apps over upcoming months, paving the way for B2B and B2C industry companies to take advantage of a significant opportunity.

Other survey findings included:

• 91 percent of the participants feel that m-commerce will add convenience to shopping
• 90 percent of the participants think that m-commerce will help them to save time while shopping
• 68 percent of the participants felt that m-commerce will boost the quality of service.

Regardless of these findings about the possibilities offered by m-commerce, the survey’s results also suggested that the businesses that are expected to provide those services are not yet prepared to meet these ever growing expectations.
