Auto Accessory Warehouse uses text messaging to drive sales

Mobile Advertising trends

SMS Marketing
San Bernardino, California-based auto accessory retailer, Auto Accessory Warehouse, has come upon notable marketing successes by using text messages to boost its sales.

In fact, the original text message marketing blast in its campaign brought in more than $5000 in new purchases as a return on investment on an advertising bill under $175. This meant that the return was worth an astounding 2800 percent.

Auto Accessory Warehouse owner, Mike Kazi decided on mobile text messaging when he was seeking a new form of advertising that would be more effective than his previous radio and print media attempts. The campaign was created and implemented by 84444.com.

The text message broadcasting from Auto Accessory warehouse went out to the approximately 4400 customers in its opt-in database. The original promotion in the first wave of text messages in the campaign was for auto window tinting. Kazi hadn’t felt confident that the Fall advertising would see many successes, since tinted windows are a more popular purchase in the Spring and Summer months. Regardless, he decided to give it a shot.

That first promotion brought in more than 20 purchases through the special on window tinting. Furthermore, many of the customers who took advantage of that deal went on to make additional purchases, as well.

Kazi explained that their first broadcast went out and the response was an overwhelming immediate interest. He went on to explain that “They came for other stuff too like wheels and tires. We even sold somebody an Alpine navigation system.”
