A mobile marketing responsibility in security grows among industry professionals

There has been a lot of news about mobile technology lately. The big push for a mobile payments system and NFC technology has been an issue for months now. But, while we look at all the great things that mobile technology can do for us, we must also look at the increasing rise in mobile spam, viruses and other fraudulent activity.
One of the main concerns among all mobile users has been security. Several companies have been addressing this issue with research into developing an adequate security system for mobile Smart phones. A recent study by AdaptiveMobile shows a drastic rise in text spamming and the advanced levels of attack that are occurring.
AdaptiveMobile operates as a mobile security provider for companies and individuals. They provide mobile users with strong protection against mobile viruses, malware, Email viruses and worms, and protect against illegal content and unwanted MMS content.
Anymore, attacks can happen on social sites, links or text messages. By sending a bogus text that you have won a prize or money they lure the user to return a text or call a given number. That is all it takes for them to expose the weaknesses that the Smartphone’s have.
People have become too dependent on their mobile devices; they trust them too much. It is like the internet was in the beginning, before the real good security software was developed. We have to look at mobile as in that same stage.
Individuals need to be personally responsible and do their part to keep themselves safe. Look at the messages you get; if you don’t know who sent it; don’t open it. Use the same rules you would at home for internet safety. AdaptiveMobile then revealed a shocking piece of information.
One of the largest operator groups AdaptiveMobile works with given data over a one month period, on average, they block over 1.5 million incoming (unwanted) text messages per country from other operators. Mobile companies know they have a growing responsibility to keep their consumers safe, and they are taking proactive measures to reduce risk.
