Text2Pay has announced that it is going to be making a carrier billing service available in over 70 countries, making it possible for developers to enable in-app payments for Android through its Tap2Pay feature.
Tap2Pay allows users of Android mobile devices to charge virtual credits and premium application features to their mobile service bills. It reflects the significant increase in the growth of Android over the last few months and the fact that developers are seeking new methods of using apps to monetize their efforts.
According to CEO Mark Reiken from Text2Pay, which is based in New York, the new service allows developers the opportunity to use their app to generate revenue, “primarily in the Android Market Place, whereas Text2Pay enables Web merchants and developers to accept payments from their Web site.”
The Tap2Pay widget can be integrated into various Android apps by their developers, through the use of an API and Java library. This solution is white label and permits revenue sharing.
In order to support the creation of Tap2Pay, Text2Pay has managed to build relationships with mobile carriers located in over 70 different countries. Tap2Pay transactions are supported in 49 languages, and are processed using 60 currencies.
At the time that a purchase is made by a user through an Android app, the developer begins the transaction through a call that is confirmed by a tap on the mobile device by the user. Users can use this service for either ongoing or one-time purchases and subscriptions.
When developers integrate Tap2Pay into their applications, consumers are instantly able to make in-app payments.
