The 7NOW delivery app now allows users to place their orders ahead of arrival at the store.
The 7-Eleven mobile ordering app has now broadened its range of features. It recently added to its mobile ordering capabilities, allowing customers toplace their orders ahead of time. That way, their orders will be ready by the time they arrive at their neighborhood store.
The idea is to allow those shoppers to purchase what they want but skip the line upon arrival.
Customers using the 7-Eleven mobile ordering feature on the 7NOW app will be able to place their order, head to their local store and automatically checkout with their purchase as soon as they pick it up. In this way, they can skip the need to find the items in the store themselves and they can skip the checkout line altogether.
“As people struggle to adapt to new routines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, 7-Eleven is committed to helping customers get what they need — when, where and how they need it,” said company COO Chris Tanco in a news release. “The new pickup option on our 7NOW delivery app is an example of how we’re meeting customer needs to be in and out of stores quickly with minimal touchpoints and increased physical distancing, while also making life a little easier.”
The 7-Eleven mobile ordering option is particularly convenient in the face of the pandemic crisis.
Beyond the additional features on the app, the convenience store chain has also announced that it will be doubling the reach of its delivery service. Delivery options will be available along with pickup features at 2,000 stores in North America, located in 1,300 different cities.
The company, based in Irving, Texas, currently has over 11,800 stores in North America. Worldwide, it boasts about 70,000 locations that are either franchised, licensed or owned. As of April 2020, there were 400 cities offering the delivery feature. That said, delivery and pickup suddenly became a greater priority as shutdowns and precautions went into effect to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The 7NOW 7-Eleven mobile ordering and delivery app is currently available in 35 major markets. The 7Rewrads loyalty program currently has over 34 million members.
